Religous and spiritual poem written 2001 by aspiring "Parish Poet" Peter Menkin who attends Church of Our Saviour, Mill Valley, California, this work is a short arrow to heaven. These words appear in the seasonal poem of the Episcopal Church year:
"a mystery promise.
of one in three,
eternity opens its gates.
ecstacy of kindness..."
The "Parish Poet" believes this to be another of the short or very short poems written as arrows to heaven. This idea is not knew to the poet Peter Menkin, and is the result of conversations with Dr. Richard Schoenburn of Belvedere, California who also suggests praying as one goes through the day. A tradition of continuous prayer differs from short arrow prayers, but a vigil is a time of various kinds of such efforts. So the "Parish Poet" believes as part of the artistic statement for the work about Thursday Vigil.
